Wow…I cannot believe I’ve gone this long without posting
anything!  My apologies to all of my faithful readers.
Especially Steve who was apparently so distraught that he had to
comment on his own site about me needing to post.  So Steve, this
one’s for you!

Anyway…So what’s been going on with me lately??  Quite a lot actually…

First off, let me fill you in on break and all that good stuff.
To sum it all up, break was great!  Christmas was amazing!  I
spent Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas day with Cory’s.
Cory’s family is awesome!  It was great to finally get to meet
everyone.  They really made me feel like part of the family.

I spent New Year’s Eve here in Bloomington.  My sister joined me
in the festivities which was really nice.  She finally got to meet
all my friends I’m always talking about.  I’m really happy she got
to come, and it was good to get some quality time with her.

I got to spend a lot of time with my friend Brooke over break, which
was much neeeded.   I haven’t really kept in touch with her
as well as I should (which is going to change since I’ll be home every
weekend), so it was nice to get to finally hang out and catch up.
There’s nothing like staying up till 5 am talking!

The D-Group party ended up being amazing!  Dawn’s sister-in-law is
a masseuse, so we all got free half-hour professional massages.
It was the first professional massage I’ve ever received.  One
word…AMAZING!  We also got manicures and then this hand dip
stuff.  I don’t really know how to describe it.  It was kind
of like dipping your hand into melted wax…anyway, it was really
nice.  So yeah, that night was a lot of fun.  It was good to
catch up with the girls and just be pampered all night!

I also went on two double dates over break!  Cory and I went out
with Brooke and John which was a lot of fun.  I’m happy Cory
finally got to meet Brooke.  We also went out with Sarah and
Kirk…yes, Cory’s brother.  Yay for setting up blind dates!
It was a lot of fun, though.  Apparently Kirk and Sarah are going
to make a reality sitcom about my family…that should be interesting…and scary…

Cory and I spent a weekend with his parents right before classes
started.  This was a really nice weekend.  Got some quality
time with the folks as well as some relaxation.  Oh yeah, speaking
of Cory’s folks, I finally learned how to play poker!!!  Cory’s
Mom and Dad, Kirk, Cory, and I all sat around Christmas night and
played poker.  It was a lot of fun…the fact that I kicked
everyone’s butts helped out a bit.
But, Kirk ended up taking me out the last game we played.  I was
on a winning streak, though.  I think it was just beginner’s
luck.  Either way, I totally love poker now!

So, the only other exciting thing that happened over break was starting
my new job.  This Sunday will be my third Sunday.  The kids
are great, the workers are great, the entire thing is just great!
I’ve really been enjoying it, and I think it is just going to get
better!  The biggest problem we have is that we don’t have enough
volunteers.  Robby’s going to be helping me on a little
recruitment presentation over the next few weeks to show in
church.  I’m hoping if we just show the congregation how adorably
cute these kids are, we’ll have an abundance of volunteers…I hope.

So yeah, I think that pretty much catches you up on everything.
My semester has been good so far.  I’ve got pretty easy classes,
which is good.  I’ve really just been enjoying my extra free time
and my new schedule/life.  I’ve really realized how blessed I
am.  I have an AMAZING and WONDERFUL boyfriend!  I have
AWESOME friends, here in Bloomington as well as in Sullivan.  I’m
really blessed to have this new job that I’m loving!  I’m just
really enjoying life right now, which is good!

Well, I’ll guess I’ll go ahead and wrap this up.  One last
thing…Tomorrow night (the 22nd) is a coffee house/open mic night at
the CSF house.  It’s going to be an awesome night filled with
amazing talent.  People will be singing or playing instruments (I
will be doing a few songs of my own and I think Cory may do some of his
stuff as well), some will recite poetry, others will show art and
photography.  The fun begins at 7:30, so if you are free, I
definitely recommend that you come!

I hope everyone is doing well!

  1. Hey Kim! Thank you SO much for your comment on my xanga 🙂 It really is an amazing work God does through us isnt it!!! 🙂 I pray today that you will also be encouraged as i have been by you, that we are vessels of Christ and he has only the qualification of our willingness. God is using you in a big way with your ministry to those children 🙂 He is glorified in you and blessed because of your willingness to join his army and serve his precious ones.
